Lynne Taylor

Director / Registered Manager

With over 27 years of dedicated experience in health and social care, Lynne brings a wealth of knowledge in person-centred support and clinical leadership to Asters Specialist Care. As a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse, Lynne has worked across a range of settings, consistently championing high-quality care and positive outcomes for individuals with diverse and complex needs.

Recently qualifying as an Executive Coach, Lynne is passionate about empowering teams, promoting compassionate leadership, and driving innovation within specialist care services.

With a strong commitment to creating inclusive, values-led environments, Lynne strives to ensure that individuals feel safe, respected, and supported to live meaningful lives. Lynne’s dedication to person-centred care has been nationally recognised, including winning the prestigious ‘Putting People First’ award-reflecting her unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and delivering the right care, right support and the right culture.

Mike Padgham

Director / Nominated Individual

With more than 35 years in social care, plus a decade in the NHS and local government, Mike is recognised as one of the sector’s most influential voices. Since 2002, he has chaired the Independent Care Group, representing providers in York and North Yorkshire while establishing a respected national platform for reform. A past Chair of the Homecare Association, Mike has long championed fairer treatment and recognition for care. During the Covid-19 pandemic, his advocacy brought social care into the national spotlight, earning widespread media coverage. Today, as a Board member of the Care Association Alliance, Mike continues to be a driving force for change in the sector.

​He is also a passionate advocate for improving support and inclusion for people with learning disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping care policy and practice.

Garry Hutchinson

Assistant Registered Manager & PBS Lead

Garry has spent over a decade transforming lives in health and social care. With a natural gift for connecting with adults facing complex needs and behaviours of concern, Garry brings compassion, clarity, and hope to every interaction. As Assistant Registered Manager and PBS Lead at Asters Specialist Care, his mission is to embed Positive Behaviour Support into the heart of Asters, creating a culture where people feel safe, valued, and empowered.
Level 5 PBS qualified and a UKSBA member, Garry leads with empathy and purpose - restoring confidence, rebuilding trust, and helping individuals not just dream, but achieve extraordinary outcomes that redefine what’s possible
For Garry, success isn’t measured in metrics - it’s found in the quiet joy of a smile that says, “I feel seen. I feel heard, and I feel safe.”

Cassie Vasey

Business & Admin Support

Cassie Vasey brings over 20 years of experience in Health and Social Care, with a particular focus on Learning Disability Services and service improvement. Her career spans both public and independent sectors, where she has consistently driven innovation, collaboration, and person-centred care.

She began her career with North Yorkshire County Council, supporting senior managers across Community Care and Older Persons Services. This laid the foundation for her deep understanding of care provision and service coordination.

Cassie later joined the NHS, providing essential support to Learning Disability Services across Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale and York. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic helped maintain safe and effective clinic operations.

In the independent sector, Cassie has led transformation projects, streamlining systems and improving service delivery. She also played a key role in promoting sector-wide collaboration and innovation within the dementia network.

Her commitment to co-production was recognised when she was highly commended at the Great British Care Awards for working in partnership with key-stakeholders, ensuring meaningful engagement, she ensured everyone had a voice and everyone was heard and involved.
